How I use your information

This privacy notice tells you what to expect when Nick Jonah Davis (Guitarist) collects personal information. It applies to information I collect about:

Nick Jonah Davis (registered trading name) is the Data Controller, responsible for your personal data.

I do not collect any sensitive data i.e. race or ethnicity, health, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership, genetic or biometric data or any information about criminal convictions and offences.

Visitors to my website

When someone visits I use a third party service, Squarespace Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. I do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone.

I do not make any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting my website, unless they sign up to the mailing list or get in touch via the contact form. If I do collect personally identifiable information through my website I will make it clear when I collect personal information and will explain what I intend to do with it.

Use of cookies - drops a single tracking cookie called "ss_lastvisit" to allow the Squarespace statistics module to determine if a website visitor is unique.

NJDGuitar Mailing List

Signing up to the newsletter involves a 2-form opt-in process to ensure that I have explicit, compliant consent for use of your personal information in electronic marketing. Each message will contain clear unsubscribe information.

I use third party providers, TinyLetter and Mailchimp, to deliver e-newsletters. I gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies including clear gifs to help monitor and improve the e-newsletter.

People who contact via social media

If you send a private or direct message via social media the message will not be shared with anyone. If I want to add you to the mailing list, you will be sent a 2-form access submission link.

People who use Nick Jonah Davis Bandcamp

Information provided as part of Bandcamp sales will be handled in line with Bandcamp's Privacy Policy Once I have this information, it will be handled according to this policy. If I want to add Bandcamp customers to the mailing list, they will be sent a 2-form access submission link.

People who email Nick Jonah Davis

I will keep email contact confidential and store your personal data according to this policy. If I want to add you to the mailing list, you will be sent a 2-form access submission link.

Storage of personal information

Personal information is securely encrypted and stored on a password protected computer. Data stored will be regularly reviewed to ensure that there is a reasonable case for its continued use. I will not disclose personal data with third parties. There is no current reason for me to do so, but if this situation were to change I would not do so without express consent.
